About Me
My career began in the classroom, teaching English in France, then French at high schools and universities across New York and Southern California. What I learned there has shaped everything I’ve built since: the best learning happens when people feel connected, supported, and given real room to practice.
A New Path
After years in education, I moved into corporate L&D and found the same problem waiting. Organizations were hiring great people and leaving them to figure it out. Onboarding was an afterthought, paperwork and a few shadowing shifts with a hope that things would click. The cost showed up months later in attrition, slow ramp times, and frustrated managers.
That gap became my focus. At a medical device company, I designed and built the organization-wide onboarding program from the ground up, a cohort-based, six-month structured journey for a 3,000-person company. Over two years, I facilitated onboarding for 450+ employees, and the model was directly credited by leadership with improving 90-day retention and reducing early attrition.
At a life insurance company, I brought that model and made it bigger. I built the Operations onboarding program from scratch, established a company-wide Welcome Week, and designed eight role-specific onboarding programs across two lines of business, each running as a cohort experience twice a month. New hire time to proficiency dropped by more than 50%.
How I work
I’m equally comfortable setting strategy with senior leaders and sitting with a subject matter expert to map out a workflow. I don’t hand off. I build end-to-end, from needs analysis through launch, measurement, and continuous improvement.
I’m also deeply interested in where L&D is headed. I co-developed one of my organization’s first AI literacy curricula and use Microsoft Copilot to streamline content workflows. The tools are changing fast. The fundamentals of good learning design aren’t.
Outside of work
I’m a wife, a mom, a chauffeur, and a birthday party planner, usually all at once. I’m fluent in French, which is a daily reminder that I’ll always be a language learner at heart. I live in Southern California, and when I’m not thinking about learning architecture, I’m usually thinking about what’s next for my kids.
My Design Philosophy
01
Start With the Problem
Most learning fails before it’s ever built. Someone identifies a problem, requests a course, and a course gets made. Content is delivered, a box gets checked, and six months later nothing has changed. Before I open a single authoring tool, I want to know what’s actually happening, where the gap is, what’s driving it, and what success looks like in measurable terms. The analysis is where the real work begins.
02
Design for the Learner
Once I understand the problem, my job is to translate that into an experience that respects the person going through it. Not content dumps. Not click-through compliance. Experiences that are sequenced intentionally, grounded in how adults actually learn, and designed to transfer directly to the work itself.
03
Hold the Line on Outcomes
Launching a program is not the finish line. Behavior change is. That means building evaluation in from the start, measuring what actually matters, and being willing to go back and improve when the data says to. Delivery is not success. Results are.
04
Do the Craft Well
The analysis, the architecture, the design of something that genuinely moves people forward. This is the work I find most meaningful. Not because a course existed, but because the learning did.
